Patricia Dignam Gallagan

A folk artist in the style of Grandma Moses, Patricia is known for her unique depictions of Connecticut and New York towns. She bases her paintings on childhood memories, historical facts and local landmarks. Her artistic interpretations of turn-of-the-century New England offer whimsical views through multiple vignettes. These culminate in picturesque scenes, vivid with color and bursting with imagination. Patricia received her formal instruction as a student in New York, and has continued with private and group lessons. Her family has provided endless inspiration as her paintings include active, energetic children and mischievous pets. Her extensive research is evident in the subjects’ dress and mannerisms, and in her architecture.

David Merrill

A native of rural Connecticut, David received his art training at the Famous Artist School, Westport, CT. and Western Connecticut State University, Danbury, CT. Love of New England inspires his paintings, capturing a nostalgic view which is rapidly passing away. His woods, meadows, brooks, stone walls, barns and historic homesteads reveal a serenity of things made old by time and the elements. David’s work includes not only paintings, but commemorative plates, lithographs, wine labels and, perhaps best known, his murals--in both public and private locations. He has had 17 one-man shows, is represented in 33 private collections and has won over 20 awards. He has been profiled in many publications, newspapers, on radio and television, and exhibited and judged extensively throughout the eastern United States.
